Ready or not, here it comes: Southern High School opens By: Melinda Sinzi Published on the Net by: Rhea Olivia Cabrera The student body of the newly contructed Southern High School is combination of students from the former Inarajan and Oceanview High Schools. The school houses a population of over 2,000 students and lies in the village of Santa Rita. There are many problems arising in the school such as the lack of teachers, not enough school aides to supervise the students, and many problems. "The classes are too crowded, and there are so many fights about our villages," said Grant Duenas, a junior attending Southern High. Peter Grey, also a junior, believes the school should not be opened to students yet. "The school's kind of messed up because it isn't ready yet, there isn't any good water. It's so dusty with all the constructing going on," he said. "This school sucks, the aides are really weird and we have a huge library with no books," said seventeen-year-old senior, Franklin Topasna. Some students have proposed solutions on how to improve the conditions in Southern High. "They should enclose all the hallways and everywhere should be air-conditioned," said Duenas. Sharina Siatong, senior, believes that students should have been transferred when the school's construction is completed. "They should've waited until next year to transfer us because all the constructing around us is dangerous," she said.
