Santa Claus has retired. Yes, Frank Mendiola, the aide with the long, white beard whom the students know as "Santa Claus" has retired. On September 30, he said his farewells to the Islander community where he has worked at for ninteen years. He also said his good-byes to a job he's been doing for twenty-six years. Mendiola said he will miss JFK a lot, "...especially the other aides and students...I will be coming back to visit."
