Jao, Taitano named New Principals By: Julie Corneio Published on the Net by: Analyn Gatus Reolito Jao and Lillian Taitano were recently appointed by the Department of Education as the new disciplinary administrators for John F. Kennedy High School. Both Jao and Taitano have had experience as assistant principals in the past years. Mr. Vaughn Mesa said, "Although Mrs. Taitano is a certified administrator, Mr. Jao is still working on his administrative degree." Mesa said the reason for having the new administrators is because John F. Kennedy is a big school and deals with a lot of problems. He feels that Jao and Taitano are capable of handling the situation. Both Jao and Taitano are working closely with the Guam Police Department to prevent any chaotic activities that might happen within the school grounds. Their main concern is the well-being of the student body and the staff, as well as the campus. Jao has set standards and priorities for the students, staff, and campus to ensure students' safety. Taitano's top priority, on the other hand, is to help in the interaction of the students and teachers and to create a healthy environment. Taitano hopes to gain the help of the students and teachers in dealing with proper behavior at school, and to help the students understand why the school's policies and rules are necessary. According to Jao, a lot has changed within the school's regulations. "School aides are more visible and the student body is coming up with a lot of questions about board policies, " he said.
